Data Science vs Computer Science — A brief definition

Some people might think that Data Science and Computer Science are just the same. Since they both are considered computer-based professions and many people use these terms interchangeably.

Let’s get to know each term and how they function;

Data Science extracts large data to be analyzed, interpreted, and manipulated. It uses the Scientific method to be able to come up with a conclusion for more specific and strategic options.

Computer Science is a study of computers and how it works. It is all about inventing something new and beneficial.

Let’s say you are in a maze and given a series of instructions to reach the finish line. Data Science will use the instructions to see the top of the maze to get a more clear view of how to get out. Computer science will create a piece of machinery to lift you up out of the maze.

In conclusion;

Data science refers to a specific field of knowledge within the study of computers, focusing on programming, analytics, and statistics. Computer science deals with building hardware and programming software.
